The 1756-ENBTK module is an EtherNet/IP communication module for Logix 5000 control systems. This communication bridge interface card supports Logix systems with EtherNet/IP links for moving messages to input/output devices and to automation devices located on other networks. It is also designed to work in harsh or demanding industrial conditions, and that is why all internal of its components and PC boards are conformally coated and have an additional layer of protection. The technology known as polymeric film deposit enables this module to fight efficiently against high levels of relative humidity and the intrusion of contaminants. The 1756-ENBTK Logix 5000 EtherNet/IP communication module is compatible with CompactLogix 5380, Compact GuardLogix 5380, ControlLogix 5580, CompactLogix 5480, and GuardLogix 5580 programmable logic controllers manufactured by A/B.
The 1756-ENBTK module supports message transfer and it is compatible with distributed I/O system messaging channels. It also covers services like DNS addressing, port configuration, troubleshooting, IGMP protocol snooping, and an email server. ControlLogix and CopmpactLogix controllers can send an email to the mail relay server by sending MSG instructions to the 1756-ENBT module. This Ethernet/IP module supports 64 TCP/IP connections and 128 CIP connections. Its communication rate is 10/100 Mbps, and its packet rate capacity varies between 900 packets per second for the HMI and MSG to 5000 packets per second for I/O messaging. The chassis that can be used to house this module are 1756-A10, 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A17, and the 1756-A13 chassis. From the power line, this module takes 700 mA of current at 5 Volts DC, and 3 mA of current at 24 Volts DC.
